Maxine Sullivan:  Love to Be in Love

Born in Homestead in 1911, Maxine Sullivan became one of the foremost women in jazz in the Thirties and Forties.  This month, Greta Schiller brings Maxine Sullivan: Love to Be In Loveher engrossing hour-long portrait of the now nearly-forgotten singer who first rose to stardom on a most unlikely vehicle: a Scottish ballad!



Greta Schiller is the 2014 Filmmaker in Residence at Robert Morris University.  Greta and Andrea Weiss formed Jezebel Productions in 1984, and produced over a dozen major documentaries, including Before Stonewall, Paris Was a Woman, and most recently No Dinosaurs in Heaven, about the resistance to teaching evolution in science classes.
