SEPTEMBER 2012 at the SALON

DEPOT (wherein resides the UNDEAD of Franz Kamin)
presented by tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE

"DEPOT (wherein resides the UNDEAD of Franz Kamin)"
is a three hour, forty minute documentary about the life
and work of composer, writer, performer, pianist Franz Kamin
made by the prolific independent film & video maker who calls
himself "tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE".

Kamin (1941-2010) studied piano in Oklahoma & in Indiana
in the 1960s.  Along with James "Sarmad" Brody & others, Kamin
founded an avant-garde performance series in Bloomington
that moved on to New York City & to Barrytown, NY. Despite a
fantastically large & substantial body of work, Kamin
remained largely unknown, except to specialists in the esoteric.

Documentarian "tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE" is uniquely qualified
to create this work in Kamin's honor because he too has been
nurtured by avant-garde culture & is a composer, writer,
performer, musician, AND moviemaker who's written a (so far unpublished)
book about mathematics.

cONVENIENCE knew of Kamin's work since 1974 & became
friends with Kamin by 1977 - as well as performing in his pieces in
1992 & 1993.  He & Kamin stayed in touch until shortly before Kamin's death.
