Paul is a 40-year old recluse in Seattle with a passion for Hulk Hogan and the WWF. He decides to join a local wrestling troupe to make friends. The troupe prides itself on inclusivity -- accepting even misfits like Paul. Paul is assigned the intentionally silly character of The Big Banana, but the gimmick shocks everyone when Paul becomes wildly popular. Sudden celebrity goes to Paul's head, and the troupe tries to replace him with a Second Banana. That's when the gloves come off.
Bodyslam: Revenge of the Banana is funny, outrageous, yet also sensitive in its portrayal of humans and the characters they embody on stage. Filmmakers Ryan Harvie and John Paul Horstmann, Pitt alumni now working in Hollywood, will be in town to present the film and answer questions afterward.
RSVP is required for this screening! It is being held on the Pitt campus, where you must be on a guest list to gain access to any buildings. Just reply to this email--even if you're not sure you'll make it--by 12 noon Wednesday, April 6.
