SEPTEMBER 2020 at the SALON

 10 BUILDINGS THAT CHANGED AMERICA

presented by Tim Williams, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

Join us for a discussion of “10 Buildings that Changed America” (2013), the first episode from the PBS series 10 that Changed America.  While Covid-19 has forced many people to be home more than usual, many still must go to work and go out to shop, even if just for groceries.  It is a good time to think about homes and workplaces of the past, where we live, work, and shop now, and perhaps how architecture should serve us in the future.

“10 Buildings that Changed America” is available for streaming for free from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Hoopla service. Discussion will be led by librarian Timothy Williams.  He has worked in Hazelwood, Lawrenceville, East Liberty, and Oakland, in library buildings built between 1895 and 1968.  Timothy has lived in New York, Colorado, and for the last 30 years, Pittsburgh, in suburbs and cities, in dorms, apartments, rowhouses, and free-standing homes.

Wednesday, Sept. 16  8:00p via Zoom.
