OSCAR DOC SHORTS

It's the most-anticipated moment in Hollywood:  the awarding of the Oscar to the Best Documentary (Short Subject)!  And we'll have seen all the nominees to decide if they got it right.  The Doc Salon is back from its winter break, and joining a matinee screening of the films at the Regent Square Theater, followed by a discussion at a local tavern.

This year the films are:
  • A Night at the Garden  The huge Nazi rally in 1939... in New York City
  • Black Sheep  A black family leaves London and lands in a racist enclave
  • End Game  Visionary medicine at the end of life
  • Period. End of Sentence  A village outside Delhi takes on the stigma of menstruation
  • Lifeboat  Saving refugees from rafts on the Mediterranean
Salon members will be admitted for half-price.
