Doc Salon Turns 10
TIME FOR A LITTLE DOC CONTEST AND PARTY
The Pittsburgh Documentary Salon held its first meeting in April 2006, with Tom Wilson screening his excellent When the Forests Ran Red. Ten years later, through the contributions of filmmakers and fans of non-fiction film, the gracious provision of a home by Pittsburgh Filmmakers, and my own monthly habit, the group is still alive and kicking.
We're celebrating the occasion with two potlucks--one food, one film:
FILMMAKERS, bring a short non-fiction work and the (unusual) entry fee. We'll hand out ballots and give out cash prizes. The rules are here. If you need technical assistance, write to Will asap.
FILM FANS, bring some food or drink. Or contribute a few bucks to the prize fund. Or volunteer to help with the contest.
If you're a long-timer, you'll remember it's just like the contest and party 5 years ago. Hope to see you on the 28th. -Will Zavala, Salon organizer
